Hey gents. It’s okay to start over. I have been working on a 75mm lucky gold strike miner and was not happy with it. I had him at the 75% done level of painting but my attempt at a checkered shirt looked awful. I then painted over the pattern but that looked “heavy” and doctored. So off he went into a bath of alcohol and the entire figure was stripped of all the paint and he will be fully repainted. For you returning to our hobby or are new even us “old timers” muck it up. It’s okay! Just take a breath and start over!
Fyi. The dog was also redone. I think he came out better.

Nope. Can’t do it. I’d rather trash a kit than strip the paint and start over. Just cant bring my brain to accept that. But that’s one reason I put off painting as long as I do. Glad there are some of you who can though.

We all have our own process’ and procedures that we choose and stick to. And they are probably just as different as we are! I finally pulled myself out of a six week slump by repainting my most recent project, which went sideways right before final assembly. Good on Chris for being able to pull the plug on work he wasn’t happy with, that isn’t as easy as he makes it sound. The “chuck it and start over” works too, especially when the kit is an airplane, or car that is the size of a postage stamp LOL. The take away is keep at it until you are happy, otherwise why build at all?
