The Duel

Gents. Here is a 75mm gladiator and leopard locked in lethal combat!  The kit is from Scale 75.  The gladiator’s skin was airbrushed on with a light highlight layer applied via airbrush.  The rest of the skin tones were applied via brush.  The gladiator’s clothing was brushed on using acrylics.  The fierce cat had its base coat applied via airbrush, with 4 different colors applied.  The spots were applied using a 0000 brush using black and brick orange.

Pig Pen

Hey all,

Builds 40 & 41 in the books. Built Pig Pen from the movie Convoy. It will go nicely with my Rubber Duck from the same movie. The trailer is just the AMT livestock trailer, with pigs. It went together very easily and was a fun build. The Mack Cruise Liner was a pretty simple build. Not too many headaches. Painted like the movie truck. Decals aren’t the best, but it’s what I had.

Bunkermania 2024

Here are some pics from Bunkermania. I won the belt for best armor. They allow for the armor in dios to be judged aside from the dio. I also won the trophy for best British armor, and gold medallion for the dio. I won gold, and best Luftwaffe  airplane for my Me 262.

I won gold for my dino and truck.

I took silver/2nd for the armor. They use an open judging system. The president, “Sarg”, told me that basically everyone gets at least a bronze. Definitely a fun show. I am still on cloud nine with the whole belt thing.

Here are some pics from the showroom. As you can see it was a small show.

Tamiya A-10

This is a kit build with good instructions. Be sure to include all interior parts even if you know you won’t see them otherwise the plane will tilt up. I built the main body then primed and painted after masking the cockpit. I painted the pilot and interior before, of course. I painted all add-ons separately before gluing them on. Glue the underwing stuff first. I used a small box with cutouts for the wings and nose to support the fuselage and to keep the tail assembly from breaking . Then flip the plane over and attach the top surface pieces.  Lastly, flip the plane over on the box and attach the painted landing gear parts. Then decals.  The nose decal is tricky…go very slow. Good luck

Charger and Freightliner

Hello folks,

It’s been a little hectic with family life, so building has been slowed down I did manage to get a 68 Charger and a Freightliner COE done.

The charger is built the drag version that’s part of the kit. It comes either a stock RT with a 440 or it can be built drag with the all mighty 426 Hemi.

The Freightliner was built box stock with a 40 dry van trailer. Painted to match as if it were an owner/operator. The trailer goes together without much fuss, but I’m done with these AMT Freightliners. This is the third one I’ve dine, and I asked myself “Why are you doing this to yourself, AGAIN!!” This kit is just a major pain. Filling the cab seems, getting the mirrors together and some other little issues. I’m not a fan of it at all. All in all, I guess it turned out okay.

Dragon and Warrior

Hi gents.  In addition to the CH-54 Tarhee and the Dolphin 2 helos,  I have also been toiling away on a 75mm dragon and warrior knight-ess.  The dragon and warrior came with a tree/rock stand.  My sheltie hoard knocked over the tree stand and a branch broke off.  Bad dogs!  I glued in back on and will touch it up to blend it back in.

The knight-ess has yet to be painted; she is only primed for now.  The dragon, so far, has about 9 layers of various colors on him.  Still have more to go!  Dragons are so cool.

You see in the background the horse for a 1/16 scale French Cuiraasier waiting for his rider!

Dolphin 2

Hey gents. Working on Trumpeter’s 1/35 AS365N2 Dolphin 2 helicopter.  The kit is fundamentally wrong.  The kit’s box art and decals are for a French Navy helicopter but the kit actually has parts for a civilian business helicopter.  Typical Trumpeter!

I am making a Dolphin in Spanish Civil Guardia configuration.   I opened up the rear wall of the kit’s rear bay and scratch built an aft compartment.  I used my handy shape definer tool to determine the shape of the rear compartment wall.   I will then move on to adding wiring for the area.

After that I will scratch build the crewman’s fold down seat (one side) and pilot’s storage area (other side).  Once done, the interior will be just about done and I can insert the cockpit/rear bay and put the fuselage together.   Updates to follow!

1926 Mack Bulldog Log Hauler

My latest build a 1926 Mack Bulldog Log Hauler original 1976 Monogram kit. This is the 4th Mack Bulldog built this year.

The model is a box build weathered accordingly. The logs are cedar branches from the trail near the lake where I live.

I have strived for realism on the truck using Tamiya panel line accent black and AK weathering enamels airbrushed.

There will be 2 more Mack Bulldog trucks coming.
Cheers!

Maraudercon 2024 and Tow Truck Build

Here are my trophies from Maraudercon. I got 1st place for my WW1 dio, and the tow truck. I also got best diorama (only because Scott was not there). I got 2, 2nd place trophies for my dino head, and my Kozak-2 armored car. I took 3rd place with my rocket panther.  I also won these items at the raffle.  It was a very successful show for me.

Here are some pics of the start of the build on the tow truck:
