Gents; wrapped up 3 busts. One is a para about to board; another is soldier from Easy Company in Bastogne; and the third is Capt Miller of Saving Private Ryan. I like these large bust figures as you can have fun with the faces. Enjoy

Here is my latest kit-bashing project, A Ford Galaxie taxi with a V12 SOHC engine shoehorned into it.

The chassis for this creation is that of a 57 Edsel Pacer (!) whose wheelbase perfectly matches that of the Galaxie. As you can see the kits chassis pan needed quite a bit of work to accommodate the Edsel frame.

All buttoned up. The wheels, tires, and engine for this project came from TX3D customs, a vendor that I have grown to love very quickly. The interior hosts seats from a Fujimi drift car, and a Sparco steering wheel.

Hey gents I present “The Fiddler’s Manager”. The 54mm vignette is from Andrea Miniatures. My favorite part is the dog of course! Hope you like it.

Cheers,

Hey Tomcat fans. check out this new reference material – looks really good! Donovan, you can see the mottled paint that Navy fighters (especially it seems the F-14) have due to the salt effects at sea. Gives Navy fighters a real tough guy, gritty look. Anytime Baby!

This is a vintage 90s Revell kit of the Don Prudhomme “Wynns Winder” dragster
This kit was a real challenge to complete, largely due to Revell not providing instructions that point out where small parts are to be located. The small diameter rods that make up the front suspension and steering mechanism also provided hours of entertainment.
The 426 Hemi engine is the real centerpiece of this kit, fully detailed, wired and plumbed. The decals for this kit did not survive it’s long hibernation and I haven’t been able to find a replacement set. Any help you all can provide there will be greatly appreciated!

Hey folks, saw this video (see link) and wanted to pass it along. It’s about a new range of acrylics from AMMO that appears to fit the bill that acrylics – at least for me – don’t do at all near as well as lacquers do. I may try this range out on some new build I do and will let you know how the new line performs. Until then, enjoy the video and if any of you already have worked this paint, let us know how it went.

Hey folks; here is the completed Gepetto figure. Those glasses were tough to put on-very delicate photo etch! Luckily the kit came with 2 sets of glasses as I promptly lost the first pair when trying to put them on. Will be picking up a name plate for the vignette today from Crown Trophy and complete this little, and fun, depiction of Gepetto, Pinocchio, and of course Figaro!

The next project is lined up for its primer coat and on to painting. “The Fiddler’s Manager”

It’s been a busy December and January working on an original release Ertl International 4070a kit (1973) The kit was started by someone years ago and then shelved. I soaked the sloppy painted cab in Dot 3 brake fluid for 3 hours and the years of old paint came right off. The original casting of the kit was in Red plastic. Bringing an old kit back to life is fun and challenging. The windshield center post was broken out, the cab had a crack in the window post as well.

The kit was primered white over the Red plastic which turned pink. 2 more coats solved the problem.
I wanted a work related truck and Bud 2 hole wheels would make the truck perfect. Special thanks to Chad Kennedy for the 3-D printed wheels.
The cab and chasis were airbrushed using enamel paints. Engine details I used Tamiya panel line accent black and AK weathering enamels for exhausts.
The final International 4070a came out quite nicely.

Here are some pictures of my Christmas present in progress. This is the Meng 1:12 McLaren as raced by Aryton Senna.

This kit is similar in execution to the GT40 kit in that there is very little glue required. Instead most parts are press fit with major assemblies held together with itty bitty screws. I did OK and only lost one!

And here she is completed. The decals on this kit are easily the most difficult I have ever tackled, 40 or more individual decals across four sheets. The entire chassis pan and interior tub are both fully covered!

Much like Accurate Miniatures diabolical M8b kit the real beauty of this kit is hidden under the bodywork. They do provide stands so that you can display the car in its underwear should you so desire.
