Chris’ Dragon

It took me a long time to figure how to mount the dragon to the castle base but I (hope) I got it.  I drilled a hole in the monster’s back right foot and inserted a mounted metal pin then matched that up with a spot on the castle to drill a matching hole.  The pin was superglued in place and the front right foot got a little dab of super glue to prevent the dragon from “swinging on its anchor” (how’s that for nautical reference from a Navy guy!).

  1. Chris I hope you don’t believe that starting eight or nine new projects excuses you from NOT coming to the NOVA show. How many negatives was that in one sentence? Lol. You need your dragon to be eating a car while sitting astride a battleship, that would make a triathalon entry for the ages

      • Because of my small workspace, this happens all too frequently. You should be able to remove 90+% by polishing them out. Novis #2 (Red Bottle), Tamiya Polishing Compound (Course-Red then Fine-Blue label), or Bare Metal Plastic Polish. I have even used Crest Original Tooth Paste to remove the more stubborn splotches.

  2. Horse hockey! Surely some creative masking and a gentle touch with some thinner and you can rescue her! If not that is a real bummer. Don’t let it discourage you from future civilian vehicle builds as you got off to a strong start. My vehicle painting demo in May will be entirely focused on getting good results out of rattle cans and will include what to do when Mr Murphy and his law rear their ugly heads.

  3. my weak disposition did not allow me to come up with dot removal solutions or to wait for you all’s great ideas. I tossed the bike and chick and moved on to a US Rangers captain, a mounted knight, and a colonial viper mark ii. That mark ii is a real dog 😦

  4. Pics or it didn’t happen ! Is that how you know that you have a plastic “problem”. When you can no longer remember where all the kits in your stash came from?

”Hi, I’m Ross and I have a plastic addiction”

”Hi Ross! Welcome and thank you for sharing”
